Brodie is an artist and producer based on the windswept Hebridean Island of Tiree. A fine art graduate from Edinburgh College of Art, she devises socially engaged projects working with people, material and place that explore landscape, rurality and community.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the help of volunteers, she has established a community food project with the aim of ensuring that no one on the island is without food or household essentials. This included setting up a ‘Community Cupboard’ in an old phone box, and a Community Seed Exchange which has encouraged people to start growing their own food, and already established gardeners to support them. In 2019 she worked with Screen Argyll to produce Sea Change: Powering Women in Film, a professional development lab and film festival which brought industry professionals from all over the UK to Tiree for a week. Brodie is also passionate about inspiring young minds, and has spent 6 years working freelance in art education and engagement programmes with some of Scotland’s leading arts organisations.
She is currently studying for an MA in ‘Art and Social Practice’ with University of Highlands and Islands and is also expecting her first baby!
