'I am just keeping my head above water' Young women's experiences of the cost-of-living crisis in Scotland

The cost-of-living crisis continues to deepen for young women and girls across Scotland. Young women are stuck in poorly insulated and expensive accommodation, girls are going hungry as families struggle to afford food, and young women are unable to afford to socialise with friends and peers due to lack of savings and income.

The Young Women’s Movement and Scottish Women’s Budget Group have investigated how the cost-of-living crisis affects young women and girls in Scotland in different ways than other groups of women, particularly those aged 30 and above.

This Challenge Poverty Week, join The Young Women’s Movement and the Scottish Women’s Budget Group as we launch our new report on young women’s experiences of the cost-of-living crisis in Scotland. Join us as we discuss young women’s experiences in relation to rising costs; income and debt; relationships and the ‘single tax’, and housing, among many other issues.
