It is an incredible honour and a highlight in my career to be first nominated and then chosen for Young Women Scotland’s ’30 under 30′ list, alongside other remarkable young women who are making a positive impact in Scotland.

Throughout my career in Youth Work, I have become extremely passionate about feminism, equal rights for women, and advocating for young women in Dumfries & Galloway. This passion grew after attending an inspirational International Women’s Day Conference. I felt that not enough was being done in the local area to bring young women together. This led me to establish and further support the development of the first-ever Young Women’s Network in Dumfries & Galloway, which has provided a platform for young women to come together, share their experiences, and support one another in their development and growth. This group is now part of a UK-wide network that brings together young women from Scotland, England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. We are thrilled to be hosting the national event for International Women’s Day in 2024.

I will forever remain passionate about dedicating myself to advancing women’s rights and supporting young women in making their voices heard through various platforms. I am committed to making a real impact and celebrating the remarkable women I have had the privilege to know both personally and professionally. Feminism will always hold a special place in my heart, as will my ongoing commitment to driving change, challenging inequalities for women, and inspiring others to understand and value women’s inclusion.
