Jenny is an internationally published writer and is passionate about making the world a better place, one small project at a time.

She runs an online poetry group called Poets X Change and has created two poetry zines to raise money for charity. She has run writing workshops for children and hosted open mics to celebrate International Women’s Day. She won the 2020 Glasgow Women’s Library Poetry Slam and was selected to take part in the prestigious BBC Words First Talent program. She is currently working on a collection of poems about forgotten women of history.

Jenny attends the International Women’s Day March and the Pro-Choice rally every year. She previously organised the Write to End Violence Against Women Awards and she researched and wrote the Media Guidelines on Violence Against Women. At university, Jenny created and led the successful campaign for gender neutral toilets. One of the things she is most proud of is that she travelled to Dublin to support the campaign to Repeal the 8th.

Jenny has been commissioned to complete gender-focused research projects on topics including board games, the orgasm gap, and children’s play. She recently supported an audit of play parks in East Lothian from the perspective of inclusion and accessibility and secured funding to begin a Disabled Person’s Internship Scheme, where she had the pleasure of mentoring a disabled young person. Jenny currently runs a weekly after school D&D club for girls and non-binary children.
