After graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University with my BA in Social Sciences, I dedicated my time to helping to support vulnerable individuals and to advance the rights of underrepresented groups. My dissertation focused on Digital Feminist Activism in Scotland. I was able to offer my resounding support to several feminist groups that were promoting social change. I was then inspired to join the National Advisory Council for Women and Girls in Scotland where I gathered opinions and views on a range of intersectional issues within my community to feedback to the council. I work with UN Women UK on a regular basis. I served as a delegate on their Commission on the Status of Women for 3 years and I am currently in conversation with them on a project to tackle gender-based violence online.

I volunteer with Paisley YMCA with the aim of empowering more young women and girls into STEM-based education and employment. It is the highlight of my week as I can work to tackle gender inequalities and stereotypes with a special focus on empowering our diverse group of young women to take on the patriarchy and accomplish their dreams.

Similarly, I have worked with the Obama Foundation to support girl’s rights to an education. This occurs online where I share resources, raise awareness for campaigns, and converse with educators from around the globe. Such campaigns have ranged from period poverty’s impact on education and diversifying curriculums.
